Back To School
I learn a lot from my kids. I bet you do too, even if you do not like it. For example, I am an idiot. I did not know that! Ok, what can I do about that?
Well there are answers, lots of answers and I could not possibly figure them out for myself, so my kids are there to tell me. Hallelujah!
Recently my 12-year old informed me that I am really not even worth explaining anything to, my 24-year-old agrees, and my 26-year-old has the answer - I am not happy. What a surprise.
At 55 I do not have much time, so I listen carefully, intently, and I learn. What do I learn? I learn how to be humble; I learn how to understand there are many perspectives, and I do not know about any of them until someone tells me.
So be humble. Listen to your kids. They are right; we do not know anything. I mean it.
