Finding happiness and peace takes work.
I have conspired against myself; I used to think it was my family conspiring against me, and then the world, and then God. But it is me.
My happiness is completely affected by my outlook, emotions, and thoughts. My decision to choose which thoughts and emotions remains key.
The above quotes are statements I created for myself, I use them often and have many more. They are but one tool that is useful for maintaining happiness.
It has been hard for me to find happiness, no doubt for some it is natural and easy. If you find it difficult to remain happy then this series will offer my experiences and the tools that have helped me. Here are suggestions for how to move further along in your journey toward happiness, and remember it is a life’s work and not something you do in one day or even one year.
Step 1 - What is happiness? What is happiness…to YOU?
Step 2 - Beliefs control thoughts and emotions, which control our happiness and quality of life. What are your beliefs, thoughts, and emotions? Become more aware. Constantly and forever.
Step 3 - Human evolution, ie., genetics is infinite, what is your body’s preference? How do your unique hormones, chemistry, and physical and mental health affect your happiness and behavior?
Step 4 - The power of rituals, repetition, and aspiration toward God, goodness, love, or something similar are important tools. What are your tools?
