High Quality Protein Powders Help You To Reduce Calories
As we get older things change. One of the biggies is that we just do not get to eat as much as we did when we were younger. If you are like me, this is a real bummer. We need to learn how to enjoy healthy eating with fewer calories; we need to get real and honest about what we choose to keep in our diet and what we throw out. For example, if you like to drink alcohol you will have to reduce calories in other areas, and you will have to be extra careful that you do not eat more food because one of the effects of alcohol is that it increases your appetite. My primary tool in this battle is high-quality protein powders.
There are two ways I use protein powders - meal replacements and treats or dessert. Even when you stay active, there is no place for 3 or more large meals per day after you hit forty years of age. Society has brainwashed most of us into eating portions that should only happen one time per day (if that) and not at every meal. Many days I have protein shakes throughout the day and only one large meal. Or when I want a treat or some desert I mix chocolate protein powder with peanut butter, banana, and ice to make a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. When you get all the portions just the way you like, these taste just like a milkshake.
By the way, don't let the perfectionists and critics dissuade you from good eating with all their endless tweaking and fiddling, but do be careful to pick good quality nutritional foods. If you like peanut butter better than a high-quality nut butter in your shake, then have peanut butter, but make sure it is peanut butter, made only from peanuts and maybe a little salt. It tastes better and makes a great milkshake.
The bottom line is that if you are overweight, you are overeating, and if you are willing, to be honest about that high-quality protein powders are a great resource for having meals that are low in calories and high in nutrition.
