The Language Of Energy
Today I watched the Bolder Boulder, my city's famous 10k race with over 50,000 participants. When you watch something with over 50,000 participants and spectators, there is an "energy," and we all get off on it. We even crave it. That is why we do things in large crowds, congregate with other people, and do everything else to be together in that special energy that just happens when we do.
Energy. Funny what we think of - the energy of the body, energy of the crowd, energy of spirit, what does it mean? I love energy, the language of it and everything else. Especially the kind of energy that makes people uncomfortable or that seems unreal or unbelievable. Sexual energy anyone?
When people go to a football game there is a lot of energy - "the energy of the crowd was intense" - "the energy of the players was incredible" - these descriptions of energy are widely accepted. And you can talk about them with anyone.
When we speak of spiritual energy like Chi, the Force, Holy Spirit, Transformational Energy, etc., people tend to be skeptical, and discussions can be tentative.
But wait a minute, everyone knows there is "energy" at a sporting event so why is it so hard to believe in and embrace these other wonderful expressions of energy? I love the energy of prayer, soulfulness, God, and meditation. It does not matter what religion or church or temple or setting, as long as there are a lot of other people pulling on the same thing.
The Energy of Love, God, Spirit. Let's become even more aware of Energy so we can ask for more, give more, and be more. Together.
